Scotland’s Liveliest and Best Ceilidhs
You haven’t been to a ceilidh until you have been to a Cutting Edge ceilidh.
The Cutting Edge Ceilidh Band has established a reputation over the last 25 years as Scotland’s liveliest ceilidh band. We started out as a ceilidh band and were the original rocky ceilidh band that many have tried to imitate, none have succeeded. We play all over the UK, from Dundee, Perth, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and everywhere in between.
A lively ceilidh is perfect for any occassion – a party, celebration, wedding, corporate event or student ball. The Cutting Edge Ceilidh Band has many years of experience in delivering amazing musical performances that start with a full dance floor and keep it full all night.
Our ceilidh set list is extensive covering all of your favourites such as Gay Gordons and Strip the Willow alongside more challenging dances such as Eightsome Reel and Duke of Perth.
You may been at ceilidhs where the dance floor is quiet and dancers are nervous of where to start and aware others may be watching. They want to try the Virginia Reel but are unsure if they should. Not at a Cutting Edge Ceilidh. We have the perfect mix of lively ceilidh tunes, covering all your favourite dances (with a few more difficult ones for fun).
The best Ceilidh needs the best caller and we have a six times World Highland Dancing Champion and qualified teaching professional on hand to ensure no-one is left behind. The perfect mix for the perfect night of ceilidh dancing at any wedding, celebration or event.
We have many radio and TV broadcasts to our name including Take the Floor, Beechgrove Garden, Hogmanay Shows and Monarch of the Glen.
What makes the Cutting Edge Ceilidh Band unique is that we are as comfortable doing a full ceilidh night or a mixture of ceilidh and lively covers. No other band can match our variety and quality of music.
From initial enquiry right through to confirming your booking your event coordinators Ashley Malcolm and Deryck Mitchelson will be on hand to discuss every detail. We have worked with most of Scotland’s top venues and can make recommendations as to the best timings and layouts for your special evening, please just ask.
Our standard ceilidh set usually start at 8.00 pm and finish at 12.00 midnight including a break. If this doesn’t fit in with your timings please ask and we will be happy to accommodate your own schedule.
